Résumé	This is an international event and will attract contributors from many countries. The conference is intended as a meeting place for those who operate directly in arenas of conflict (e.g. the military, staff of NGOs, mediators), those who provide support or advice (e.g. analysts, contractors, counsellors) and others who offer theoretical concepts and practical frameworks for handling conflict (e.g. academic researchers). While the organisers, by locating this conference at RMAS, are deliberately setting out to indicate a strong military dimension, this will not be an exclusive focus: indeed it is only by working with other communities of practice that the military missions are likely to succeed.

3.The 2012 International Conference of Applied and Engineering Mathematics

Résumé	The conference ICAEM'12 is held under the World Congress on Engineering 2012. The WCE 2012 is organized by the International Association of Engineers (IAENG), and serves as a good platform for the engineering community members to meet with each other and to exchange ideas. The last IAENG conferences attracted more than one thousand participants from over 30 countries. All submitted papers will be under peer review and accepted papers will be published in the conference proceeding (ISBN: 978-988-19251-3-8). The abstracts will be indexed and available at major academic databases. The accepted papers will also be considered for publication in the special issues of the journal Engineering Letters , in IAENG journals, and in edited books.

4.9th IMA International Conference on Mathematics in Signal Processing

Résumé	Signal processing constitutes an important area for the application of mathematical concepts and techniques fuelled, for example, by developments in mobile communications, multimedia systems and digital TV. The subject is still advancing rapidly in areas such as non-linear/non-Gaussian/non-stationary signal processing, compressive sampling, digital communication systems, iterative estimation (e.g. turbo codes), blind deconvolution/signal separation and broadband systems. The last IMA conference on this subject was held in December 2008 and in response to popular demand, the next one will be held in December 2012. The aim of the conference is to bring together mathematicians, statisticians and engineers with a view to exploring recent developments and identifying fruitful avenues for further research. It is hoped that the meeting will help to attract more mathematicians into this important and challenging field.
