Geometric and Harmonic Analysis on Homogeneous Spaces and Applications
18. Dez 2017 - 21. Dez 2017 • Mahdia, Tunesien
Zusammenfassung:
Lie group representation theory and harmonic analysis on Lie groups and on their homogeneous spaces form a significant and important area of mathematical research. Interest in these areas began soon after World War II and has gained much strength since then. These areas are interrelated with various other mathematical fields such as number theory, algebraic geometry, differential geometry, operator algebra, partial differential equations and mathematical physics. Keeping up with the fast development of this exciting area of research, Ali Baklouti (University of Sfax) and Takaaki Nomura (Kyushu University) launched a series of seminars on the topic, the first of which took place on November 2009 in Kerkennah Islands, the second in Sousse on December 2011, and the third in Hammamet on December 2013.

Dynamics and Integrability of Nonholonomic and Other Non-Hamiltonian Systems
24. Jan 2018 - 27. Jan 2018 • Padova, Italien
Zusammenfassung:
In recent years there has been a growing interest towards the integrability of systems which, though not Hamiltonian, retain some link to, or common origin with, Hamiltonian systems. One such field is that of nonholonomic systems. These investigations often rely on, and try to extend, well-understood ideas and techniques from Hamiltonian mechanics. Techniques range from differential geometry, including symplectic and Poisson geometry, and Lie group theory, to numerical investigations. The aim of this workshop is to provide a dedicated occasion of encounter and discussion to all researchers which, with different expertise and from different perspectives, are active in these areas.

ICERM Topical Workshop: Frame Theory and Exponential Bases
04. Jun 2018 - 08. Jun 2018 • Providence, RI, Vereinigte Staaten
Zusammenfassung:
The problem of decomposing a function into a sum of simply structured functions is a classical area of research in Analysis. Exciting recent progress, e.g. the solution to the Kadison-Singer problem, results about exponential frames and Riesz bases in various settings, and results about orthogonal exponential bases for convex polytopes, has re-energized discussion in this area, opened new directions for study, and turned it into an even more active and fruitful area for research. The goal of this workshop is to discuss such new developments in this area. In particular, the workshop will focus on problems regarding exponential systems in weighted spaces and the Fuglede conjecture. Related settings will also be of interest, for example: (i) Systems of vectors obtained by translating, translating and modulating, or translating and dilating a single function over the line; (ii) Sampling and decomposition of functions in the finite dimensional setting; (iii) Sampling and interpolation of functions in analytic function spaces.

Microlocal Analysis (MLA)
12. Aug 2019 - 13. Dez 2019 • Mathematical Sciences Research Institute, Berkeley, Vereinigte Staaten
Zusammenfassung:
Microlocal analysis provides tools for the precise analysis of problems arising in areas such as partial differential equations or integral geometry by working in the phase space; i.e., the cotangent bundle, of the underlying manifold. It has origins in areas such as quantum mechanics and hyperbolic equations, in addition to the development of a general PDE theory, and has expanded tremendously over the last forty years to the analysis of singular spaces, integral geometry, nonlinear equations, scattering theory,... This program will bring together researchers from various parts of the field to facilitate the transfer of ideas, and will also provide a comprehensive introduction to the field for postdocs and graduate students.
