Harmonic Analysis of Elliptic and Parabolic Partial Differential Equations
23. Apr 2018 - 27. Apr 2018 • CIRM Luminy, Marseille, Frankreich
Zusammenfassung:
This conference aims to present a range of recent advances in harmonic analysis of partial differential equations. These advances are based on a common circle of ideas, but are happening at such a rapid pace that no expert has yet been able to develop a global vision of how the field is evolving. By bringing together some of the leading experts in the field, this conference aims to collectively develop such a vision. By sharing this development with a large number of early career participants, the conference also aims to ensure that the domain remains vibrant and innovative. Topics will include differential operators with L infinity coefficient, singular integrals theory beyond the Calderon-Zygmund framework, first order differential systems, Dirac operators, Hodge theory in Lp; adapted function spaces for rough differential operators (tents, Hardy, BMO, and Besov spaces), elliptic boundary value problems on non smooth domains, parabolic PDEs, Navier-Stokes equations etc.

ICERM Topical Workshop: Frame Theory and Exponential Bases
04. Jun 2018 - 08. Jun 2018 • Providence, RI, Vereinigte Staaten
Zusammenfassung:
The problem of decomposing a function into a sum of simply structured functions is a classical area of research in Analysis. Exciting recent progress, e.g. the solution to the Kadison-Singer problem, results about exponential frames and Riesz bases in various settings, and results about orthogonal exponential bases for convex polytopes, has re-energized discussion in this area, opened new directions for study, and turned it into an even more active and fruitful area for research. The goal of this workshop is to discuss such new developments in this area. In particular, the workshop will focus on problems regarding exponential systems in weighted spaces and the Fuglede conjecture. Related settings will also be of interest, for example: (i) Systems of vectors obtained by translating, translating and modulating, or translating and dilating a single function over the line; (ii) Sampling and decomposition of functions in the finite dimensional setting; (iii) Sampling and interpolation of functions in analytic function spaces.

CBMS-NSF Conference on Harmonic Analysis: Smooth and Non-Smooth
04. Jun 2018 - 08. Jun 2018 • Iowa State University, Ames, Vereinigte Staaten
Zusammenfassung:
A series of ten lectures by Professor Palle Jorgensen from the University of Iowa, a leader in the fields of smooth and non-smooth harmonic analysis. The conference aims to demonstrate surprising connections between the two domains of geometry and Fourier spectra. In addition to the 10 lectures by Jorgensen, there will be other invited speakers. There is a recent and increasing interest in understanding the harmonic analysis of non-smooth geometries, typically fractal like. They are unlike the familiar smooth Euclidean geometry. In the non-smooth case, nearby points are not locally connected to each other. Real-world examples where these types of geometry appear include large computer networks, relationships in datasets, and fractal structures such as those found in crystalline substances, light scattering, and other natural phenomena where dynamical systems are present.

Zusammenfassung:
This Summer Graduate School will introduce students to the modern theory of the inhomogeneous Cauchy-Riemann equation, the fundamental partial differential equation of Complex Analysis. This theory uses powerful tools of partial differential equations, differential geometry and functional analysis to obtain a refined understanding of holomorphic functions on complex manifolds. Besides students planning to work in complex analysis, this course will be valuable to those planning to study partial differential equations, complex differential and algebraic geometry, and operator theory. The exposition will be self-contained and the prerequisites will be kept at a minimum.

ICVNS 2018 - 6th International Conference on Variable Neighborhood Search
04. Okt 2018 - 07. Okt 2018 • Sithonia, Halkidiki, Griechenland
Zusammenfassung:
The 6th International Conference on Variable Neighborhood Search will be held in Sithonia, Halkidiki, Greece (Porto Carras Meliton Hotel) October 4-7, 2018. VNS is a metaheuristic based on systematic changes in the neighborhood structure within a search, for solving optimization problems and related tasks. The main goal of the ICVNS 2018 is to provide a stimulating environment in which researchers coming from various scientific fields can share and discuss their knowledge, expertise and ideas related to the VNS Metaheuristic and its applications.

Hamiltonian Systems, from Topology to Applications through Analysis I
08. Okt 2018 - 12. Okt 2018 • Mathematical Sciences Research Institute, Berkeley, Vereinigte Staaten
Zusammenfassung:
This is a main workshop of the program "Hamiltonian systems, from topology to applications through analysis" and is a companion to the workshop next month (November 26-30). Both workshops will feature current developments pertaining to finite and infinite-dimensional Hamiltonian systems, with a mix of rigorous theory and applications. A broad range of topics will be included, e.g., existence of and transport about invariant sets (Arnold diffusion, KAM, etc.), techniques for projection/reduction of infinite to finite systems, and the role of topological invariants in applications.

International Conference "Geometry, Differential Equations and Analysis" in memory of Aleksei Vasilyevich Pogorelov for his 100th birthday anniversary
17. Jun 2019 - 21. Jun 2019 • Kharkiv, Ukraine
Zusammenfassung:
The conference is dedicated to the 100th birthday anniversary of an outstanding mathematician A.V. Pogorelov. He is famous for proving rigidity of general (non-smooth) closed convex surfaces in spaces of constant curvature and rigidity of regular surfaces in Riemannian spaces; for solutions of Weil's, Minkowski's, and Hilbert's fourth problem. A.V. Pogorelov created a theory of elliptic Monge-Ampere equations and a non-linear theory of thin elastic shells. The conference topics include: geometry of submanifolds, global differential and Riemannian geometries, geometric PDEs and analysis. The Program Committee: M. Gromov (IHES, France), S.P. Novikov (MSU, Russia; University of Maryland, USA), Yu.G. Reshetnyak (Sobolev Institute of Mathematics, Russia), S.-T. Yau (Harvard University, USA), Yu.A. Aminov (ILTPE, Ukraine), A.A. Borisenko (ILTPE, Ukraine), E.Ya. Khruslov (ILTPE, Ukraine), V.A. Marchenko (ILTPE, Ukraine), L.A. Pastur (ILTPE, Ukraine).

Positivity X
08. Jul 2019 - 12. Jul 2019 • Pretoria, Südafrika
Zusammenfassung:
The conference Positivity X is the tenth in a series of international conferences, devoted to ordered structures in analysis and their applications. While of intrinsic interest, ordered structures in mathematical analysis has a wide range of applications, including to stochastic processes, mathematics of finance, economics and partial differential equations. Both the purely mathematical aspects of the theory as well as its applications, as mentioned above, will be dealt with at this event.

Microlocal Analysis (MLA)
12. Aug 2019 - 13. Dez 2019 • Mathematical Sciences Research Institute, Berkeley, Vereinigte Staaten
Zusammenfassung:
Microlocal analysis provides tools for the precise analysis of problems arising in areas such as partial differential equations or integral geometry by working in the phase space; i.e., the cotangent bundle, of the underlying manifold. It has origins in areas such as quantum mechanics and hyperbolic equations, in addition to the development of a general PDE theory, and has expanded tremendously over the last forty years to the analysis of singular spaces, integral geometry, nonlinear equations, scattering theory,... This program will bring together researchers from various parts of the field to facilitate the transfer of ideas, and will also provide a comprehensive introduction to the field for postdocs and graduate students.
