The 54th Spring Topology and Dynamical Systems Conference
18. Mär 2020 - 21. Mär 2020 • Murray, KY, Vereinigte Staaten
Spring Topology and Dynamical Systems Conferences are a long-running series of annual conferences focusing on several actively researched areas in topology and dynamical systems. Sessions will be held in Continuum Theory, Dynamical Systems, Geometric Topology, Geometric Group Theory, Set-Theoretic Topology, and Topology in Data Science.
The 13th AIMS Conference on Dynamical Systems, Differential Equations and Applications
05. Jun 2020 - 09. Jun 2020 • Atlanta, Vereinigte Staaten
American Institute of Mathematical Sciences (AIMS)
The Conference aims to promote and influence more cooperation, understanding, and collaboration among scientists working in dynamical systems, differential equations and applications. The goals of the meeting are a cross-fertilization of ideas from different application areas, and increased communication between the mathematicians who develop dynamical systems techniques and the applied scientists who use them.
Pure and applied analysis, including differential equations and dynamical systems, in the broadest sense. The application areas are diverse and multidisciplinary, covering areas of applied science and engineering that include biology, chemistry, physics, finance, industrial mathematics and more, in the forms of modeling, computations and simulation.
Lattice Point Distribution and Homogeneous Dynamics
22. Jun 2020 - 26. Jun 2020 • Providence, RI, Vereinigte Staaten
In the last decade, there have been several important breakthroughs in Number Theory, where progress on long-standing open problems has been achieved by utilizing ideas originated in the theory of dynamical systems on homogeneous spaces, and their application to lattice point counting and distribution.
RSS — Robotics: Science and Systems
12. Jul 2020 - 17. Jul 2020 • Oregon State University at Corvallis, Vereinigte Staaten
The Robotics: Science and Systems has a long history of bringing together researchers in all areas of robotics from around the world for an engaging and focused week of single-track presentations, workshops, poster sessions, tutorials, and fun!
AIM Workshop: Moduli spaces for algebraic dynamical systems
13. Jul 2020 - 17. Jul 2020 • San Jose, Kalifornien, Vereinigte Staaten
This workshop, sponsored by AIM and the NSF, will be devoted to the study of the geometry and arithmetic of moduli spaces associated to dynamical systems on algebraic varieties, with a particular emphasis on dynamical systems on projective space.
Mathematical Challenges and Opportunities for Autonomous Vehicles
14. Sep 2020 - 18. Dez 2020 • Los Angeles, CA, Vereinigte Staaten
Autonomous vehicle (AV) research and development has achieved a similar status in terms of money invested, societal excitement, and media coverage as space travel and exploration. At the same time, AV research is not rocket science; it is more complicated: while in itself, an AV is no more complex than a spacecraft, it must reliably interact and communicate with many other agents, particularly humans both inside and outside of the vehicle, much of it in a de-centralized fashion. Hence, AVs, and their impact on us humans and our transportation systems, incur some of the most complicated science and engineering challenges that we shall face in the near future. At the same time, there is some disconnect across the various research communities: professional product development is highly opaque, and public expectations and media communications are frequently inaccurate or exaggerated.
Workshop II: Safe Operation of Connected and Autonomous Vehicle Fleets
26. Okt 2020 - 30. Okt 2020 • Los Angeles, CA, Vereinigte Staaten
The goal of ensuring safe mobility has been at the forefront of government agencies and industry since the introduction of the mechanized transportation. Connected vehicle technologies were initially introduced to allow vehicle to vehicle and vehicle to infrastructure systems to enable the next generation of safe vehicles. Similarly, autonomous vehicles has often been looked at as a way to reduce accidents and fatalities, often associated with human error. However, fulfilling the promise of vision zero (zero deaths, accidents, etc.) is still a long way off (or maybe not possible at all?). This workshop is aimed at understanding if it is possible to build provably safe vehicles that operate in the presence of humans, both as passengers of the AVs and as pedestrians, bicyclists, etc.
