Intelligent Materials 2017 — 3rd Euro Intelligent Materials - European Symposium on Intelligent Materials 2017
07. Jun 2017 - 09. Jun 2017 • Kiel, Deutschland
Zusammenfassung:
Intelligent materials with integrated functionalities are required to make devices more energy efficient, autonomous, self-responding, switchable, biocompatible, and antibacterial. They are also integrated into novel sensor and actuator devices, providing significantly increased sensitivity. Such intelligent materials typically have complex internal structures: they can be composites of different material classes such as multiferroics; they might be nanostructured or hierarchically built-up; they could be bioinspired and possess functional elements ranging from single molecules to the macroscale. All those materials and their design and development have to be accompanied by high-resolution analytical tools that are able to characterize the materials on all scales and, moreover, track and reveal their function-structure relations in situ or in operando.

International Conference on Self-Healing Materials
25. Jun 2017 - 28. Jun 2017 • Friedrichshafen, Deutschland
Zusammenfassung:
The programme of the ICSHM will not only reflect mechanisms, materials, characterisation and processes but also the huge potential of self-healing materials in all application areas. It will be structured in three main streams: “Soft Matter Self-healing Materials”, “Hard Matter Self-healing Materials” and as research and development of self-healing materials has suffered several hurdles in the last years towards further commercialisation the conference will have a special emphasis on “Self-healing Materials in Industrial Applications”.

Parallel to this, topical workshops will be held. The workshops should especially help young scientists to broaden their views and to stimulate new ideas. One of such workshops will be devoted to demonstrating the route from fundamental science to the realisation in industrial practice.

Uranium Processing — “Uranium Ore Processing” Short Course
18. Sep 2017 - 19. Sep 2017 • Vancouver, Kanada
Zusammenfassung:
Uranium is known to occur in over 200 different minerals but most of these do not occur in deposits of sufficient grade to warrant economic extraction. Uranium ore can be extracted by open pit, underground or in-situ mining methods. Uranium mill process flowsheets and unit operations for yellow cake production vary based on chemical and mineralogical characteristics of the ore to be processed. Ore characteristics are a particularly important component of the understanding the process development. Numerous other factors such as geology, radiation safety, economics, geography, environment, and regulations can change the uranium ore processing technology selection criteria.

Metallurgical Testwork — “Metallurgical Testwork, Interpretation & Process Design” Short Course
19. Okt 2017 - 20. Okt 2017 • Vancouver, Kanada
Zusammenfassung:
The metallurgical testwork program is generally the most important critical path item for process design of a circuit and if it is not implemented in a well-structured and framed way by an experienced subject matter expert it can become the main reason of a mining project fatal flow. Not two ore bodies are the same. Although development of a suitable process flowsheet to treat an orebody appears to be a relatively straightforward, selecting the optimum process whilst maintaining the maximum recovery and revenue is a complex task. Aspects of metallurgical test program ranging from initial sample selection and ore characterisation to understand metallurgical response of an ore to complex pilot tests. It is necessary to develop metallurgical testplan that can cater for the variability in the orebody, whilst still providing optimum economics on the majority of the process plant feed.

Gold Processing — “Gold Ore Processing” Short Course
16. Nov 2017 - 17. Nov 2017 • Toronto, Kanada
Zusammenfassung:
Gold is among the first metals used by man because it naturally occurs in its native state. Over the years different process flowsheets have been developed with the purpose of optimising gold extraction from a particular feed material using the most appropriate technology. Due to numerous factors ranging from technical e.g. geological, mineralogical, metallurgical and economical to non-technical such as geographical, environmental and political, diverse industrial flowsheet for gold production have been developed in different part of the world.

Uranium Processing — “Uranium Ore Processing” Short Course
20. Nov 2017 - 21. Nov 2017 • Toronto, Kanada
Zusammenfassung:
Uranium is known to occur in over 200 different minerals but most of these do not occur in deposits of sufficient grade to warrant economic extraction. Uranium ore can be extracted by open pit, underground or in-situ mining methods. Uranium mill process flowsheets and unit operations for yellow cake production vary based on chemical and mineralogical characteristics of the ore to be processed. Ore characteristics are a particularly important component of the understanding the process development. Numerous other factors such as geology, radiation safety, economics, geography, environment, and regulations can change the uranium ore processing technology selection criteria.
