Metallurgical Testwork — “Metallurgical Testwork, Interpretation & Process Design” Short Course
19. Okt 2017 - 20. Okt 2017 • Vancouver, Kanada
Zusammenfassung:
The metallurgical testwork program is generally the most important critical path item for process design of a circuit and if it is not implemented in a well-structured and framed way by an experienced subject matter expert it can become the main reason of a mining project fatal flow. Not two ore bodies are the same. Although development of a suitable process flowsheet to treat an orebody appears to be a relatively straightforward, selecting the optimum process whilst maintaining the maximum recovery and revenue is a complex task. Aspects of metallurgical test program ranging from initial sample selection and ore characterisation to understand metallurgical response of an ore to complex pilot tests. It is necessary to develop metallurgical testplan that can cater for the variability in the orebody, whilst still providing optimum economics on the majority of the process plant feed.

ICOTOM-18 — 18th International Conference on Textures of Materials
05. Nov 2017 - 10. Nov 2017 • Utah, Vereinigte Staaten
Zusammenfassung:
ICOTOM-18 will foster the fundamental understanding of the basic processes underlying the formation of texture and its relation to the anisotropic properties of polycrystalline materials. With EBSD and other techniques providing textural information from the nano to the macro scale, our understanding of the links between the local orientation and texture evolution and material properties continues to grow. ICOTOM-18 will provide a forum for the presentation and discussion of recent progress in texture and anisotropy research. Materials scientists and geoscientists as well as engineers are invited to come together in the scientific exchange at ICOTOM-18 to further the fundamental understanding of texture and anisotropy with an aim to convert that basic scientific understanding into real-world engineering solutions. With the unique geology of the region we particularly invite geoscientists to participate and contribute to the texture (or fabric) conversation. Uranium Processing — “Uranium Ore Processing” Short Course
20. Nov 2017 - 21. Nov 2017 • Toronto, Kanada
Zusammenfassung:
Uranium is known to occur in over 200 different minerals but most of these do not occur in deposits of sufficient grade to warrant economic extraction. Uranium ore can be extracted by open pit, underground or in-situ mining methods. Uranium mill process flowsheets and unit operations for yellow cake production vary based on chemical and mineralogical characteristics of the ore to be processed. Ore characteristics are a particularly important component of the understanding the process development. Numerous other factors such as geology, radiation safety, economics, geography, environment, and regulations can change the uranium ore processing technology selection criteria.

ICMPC 2018 — Materials Processing and characterization
16. Mär 2018 - 18. Mär 2018 • Hyderabad , Indien
Zusammenfassung:
Functional materials, smart materials, intelligent materials – whatever you call them, they will be a key pillar of 21st century technology. Among the modern structural materials there has been a tremendous advancement in science and technology of materials. In recent years, nanostructure materials and nano composites have become increasingly important because of their remarkable properties and permanently growing areas for practical applications. Various aspects of mechanical properties of nano materials including analytical and computational modelling in combination with comprehensive experimental analysis of mechanical behaviour is yet to be investigated. In spite of the rapid progress in this field, mechanical properties of nano materials and composites are still remaining terra incognita in materials science. In the field of massive and complex manufacturing we are now in need of materials, with properties, that can be manipulated according to our needs. Large spaceplanes like the Space Shuttle would have proven extremely difficult, if not impossible, to build without heat-resistant ceramic tiles to protect them during re-entry. And high-speed forward-swept-wing airplanes like Grumman's experimental X-29 or the Russian Sukhoi S-27 Berkut would not have been possible without the development of composite materials to keep their wings from bending out of shape. Nature is full of magic materials, which are to be discovered in forms suitable to our needs. Such magical materials, also known as intelligent or smart materials, can sense, process, stimulate and actuate a response. There is an increasing awareness of the benefits to be derived from the development and exploitation of advanced materials and structures in applications ranging from hydrospace to aerospace. With the ability to respond autonomously to changes in their environment, smart systems can offer a simplified approach to the control of various material and system characteristics. Mechanistic understanding from any discipline is the routes to the development of materials with capabilities beyond those currently available. The conference is creating a cross disciplinary summit that transcends departmental, institutional, industrial, public and private research organizations and global barriers and lends itself to the integration of research and education in the vital field of advanced materials. This conference is mainly aims in major sectors of advanced processing, material characterization, modeling and simulation, properties, performance and device fabrication.
