Zusammenfassung
This is an unprecedented time in biomolecular medicine. Recent scientific findings have determined biofluids consist of circulating cell-free (ct)DNA and extracellular (ex)RNA from multiple tissues within the body. In addition, the rapid development of highly sensitive and accurate next-generation sequencing (NGS) technologies has empowered researchers to analyze the role of these biomolecules in health, disease and treatment response. However, there remains considerable insecurity associated with biofluid-based DNA/RNA analytical methods which must be solved before liquid biopsies can be implemented for broader routine applications.

CHI’s 4th Annual Immuno-Oncology Summit has been designed to support a coordinated effort by industry players to bring commercial immunotherapies and immunotherapy combinations through clinical development and into the market. This weeklong, nine-meeting set will include topics ranging from early discovery through clinical development as well as emerging areas such as oncolytic virotherapy. Overall, this event will provide a focused look at how researchers are applying new science and technology in the development of the next generation of effective and safe immunotherapies.

17th Annual National Conference of Indian Association of Endocrine Surgeons - Discover the Difference
ID
803567
Termin
17. Sep 2016 - 18. Sep 2016
Ort
Meerut, Indien
Zusammenfassung
Endocrine surgical disorders, specially related to thyroid, are frequently recognized. Looking at the different nature of the tumors arising from thyroid, parathyroids, adrenals, endocrine pancreas, and neuro-endocrine tissues, as well as an altogether different management approach and follow ups of such tumors, a different surgical speciality - Endocrine Surgery, is being developed. This speciality deals dedicatedly with tumors of endocrine origin, which is a great help for the endocrine physicians also. Endocrine surgery, is rapidly being recognized, nation-wide and gaining popularity, still, it is a relatively new concept, and the unawareness leads to mis-diagnosis and mis-management of majority of patients. Looking at this aspect, in 1993, The Indian Association of Endocrine Surgeons (IAES) was formed as a section of Association of Surgeons of India, which takes pride in the dissemination of Principles and Practice of Endocrine Surgery, via CME programmes, Fellowship (FAES) programmes, video lectures and workshops, to update the practicing endocrine surgeons as well as to enhance the interest of endocrine Surgery amongst the surgeons. This year this event is being hosted in the north zone, and we expect a great scientific feast, with the world's best endocrine surgeons. Please mark your calendar, we'll be happy to have you with us.

BTMC — Novel Concepts in the Biology and Treatment of Metastatic Cancer Conference
ID
796254
Termin
05. Nov 2016 - 08. Nov 2016
Ort
Paphos, Zypern
Zusammenfassung
Metastatic disease, the lethal component of cancer, remains largely intractable to modern medicine. New insights into the biology of metastasis promise fresh insights into how to design therapies that effectively tackle this life-threatening disease process. Recent years have seen the development of novel tools for studying metastasis that continue to provide dramatic advances in our understanding of the cellular and molecular mechanisms that drive metastasis formation. Metastasis is regulated by both tumor cell-intrinisic factors such as genetic defects, epigenetic perturbation and metabolic changes, as well as by a variety of factors in the microenvironment, including cells of the immune system. These tumor cell-intrinsic factors combine with the external microenvironment to regulate tumor dormancy and the development of therapy resistance. This knowledge is starting to be translated into therapies that target not only the metastatic seed but also the microenvironmental soil.

Zusammenfassung
As one of the most investigated areas in biomedical research, the cancer field is rapidly advancing by translating biological insights towards better detection and therapeutics, including molecular classifications as well as immunotherapies. In the era of the genetically informed, emerging concepts in cancer biology and oncology research are colliding into precision medicine. In order to accelerate the development of personalized cancer therapies and further translate fundamental discoveries into the clinic, there must be open lines of communication at the interface between the lab and the clinic. Our goal in organizing this Cell Symposium, Hallmarks of Cancer, is to convene global leaders in the cancer research arena to enhance our understanding of the key aspects of cancer and how to promote translation of this knowledge into the development of targeted therapeutics. We aim to provide a high-impact, high-profile forum for exchanging ideas and establishing a dialogue amongst clinicians, scientists and drug development companies. Symposium themes: Tumor metabolism, Tumor heterogeneity, Tumor immunology and immunotherapy, Personalized cancer therapy, Metastasis and the tumor microenvironment.
