Zusammenfassung: The conference will reflect the approach to research described in the 2004 report of the National Research Council (NRC), Plasma Physics of the Local Cosmos (available online).

Zusammenfassung: The 11th international conference on Ionospheric Radio Systems and Techniques Conference (IRST 2009) will be held in Edinburgh Conference Centre, Heriot-Watt University from 28 April to 1 May 2009 and will bring together researchers, industrialists, policy makers and service providers within the area of Ionospheric Radio Systems and Techniques.

The aims of the event are to review recent innovations and developments within Ionospheric science as well as related radio systems and networks and to report on the latest research findings.

Zusammenfassung: The 12th International Workshop on Plasma Facing Materials and Components for Fusion Applications will be held at Forschungszentrum Jülich (Jülich Research Center), Germany. This workshop series, formerly named "International Workshop on Carbon Materials for Fusion Applications", was initiated in 1985 by Forschungszentrum Jülich as a forum for information exchange on carbon based materials for plasma facing applications in nuclear fusion devices. To date, 11 workshops were organized; 8 of them took place in Jülich, one in Stockholm (1995 organized by KTH and FZJ), one in Hohenkammer (2000 organized by IPP, Garching and FZJ). Then it was high time for a change and redefinition of the scope of the symposium. To reflect the requirements of the ITER design and the ongoing evolution in the field it was decided in 2006 to change the name of the workshop from "International Workshop on Carbon Materials for Fusion Applications" to "International Workshop on Plasma-Facing Materials and Components for Fusion Applications". The workshop with the extended scope was held as 11th workshop, PFMC-11 in Greifswald (2006, organized by IPP, Greifswald).

Zusammenfassung: We are pleased to invite you to attend the IEEE Nuclear and Plasma Sciences Society International Conference on Plasma Science (ICOPS) and Symposium on Fusion Engineering (SOFE). These two conferences will be co-located in San Diego at the Omni hotel, adjacent to Petco Park (home of the San Diego Padres), the Gaslamp Quarter, Seaport Village, and the Embarcadero. The San Diego trolley is accessible just steps from the entrance.

Zusammenfassung: The purpose of the workshop is to bring together the laboratory plasma physics and space plasma physics communities. The organizers hope that the setting of the workshop will inspire fruitful cross-disciplinary discussions.

Zusammenfassung: Papers covering theory, modeling, and experiments on the following topics are welcome:

- Wave interaction with plasmas, such as heating, current generation, diagnostics, and confinement and profile control

- RF applications in fusion devices, including tokamaks, stellarators, spherical tori, reverse field pinches, and other alternate confinement concepts;

- Basic RF wave physics, and applications in plasma sources for material processing, space propulsion, ionospheric and astrophysical wave-plasma interactions, etc;

- Recent advances in related RF technologies

Zusammenfassung: This prestigious conference has been the forum for discussion of nearly all fields in plasma physics since 1953, from the fundamentals of the interaction of charged particles with molecules to plasma chemistry, light sources, semiconductor fabrication processes, atmospheric and stellar plasmas, and non-thermal plasmas in fusion devices.

Our conference will offer a scientific programme consisting of 10 general and 24 topical talks covering nearly all topics in the field of ionized gases, given by worldwide leaders in their fields, in addition to regular contributions and two workshops.

Zusammenfassung: The Ninth International Symposium on Fusion Nuclear Technology (ISFNT-9) will be held in Dalian, China during the period of October 11-16, 2009. ISFNT-9 is intended as usual to provide an opportunity for colleagues all over the world to report on recent technical progress, discuss key issues and identify means to resolve these issues. The conference will cover both near-term fusion devices and long-term reactor technologies.

Zusammenfassung: The 2010 Winter Conference on Plasma Spectrochemistry is the 16th in a series of biennial meeting featuring developments in plasma spectrochemical analyses by inductively coupled plasma and other optical and electrical sources. Over 300 papers describing applications, fundamentals, and instrumental developments with plasma sources will be presented in lecture and poster sessions by more than 200 authors. Twelve symposia organized and chaired by recognized experts, a three-day instrument exhibit, and 50 pre-conference half-day training courses will be featured. The meeting will convene at the Sanibel Harbour Resort and Spa in Fort Myers, Florida.
