| 1. | [ID=316752]Self-Organization in Turbulent Plasmas and Fluids | | 03. Mai 2010 → 14. Mai 2010; Dresden, Deutschland | | Zusammenfassung: Over the last several years, there have been major advances in the experimental observation and theoretical understanding of turbulent plasmas and fluids. This meeting will bring together theoreticians and experimentalists from three different fields, namely plasma turbulence, fluid turbulence, and dynamo physics. Some of the overarching themes will be pattern formation, coherent structures, and the dynamics of tracers in turbulent flows. The goal is to review our current understanding of turbulent plasmas and fluids, to exchange ideas between these research areas, as well as to foster collaborations. | | Webseite: http://www.mpipks-dresden.mpg.de/~turb10/ | | Verwandte Fachgebiete: Komplexe Systeme und Chaos ; Thermodynamik, Hydrodynamik und Statistische Mechanik |

| 3. | [ID=343149]Cold Rydberg Gases and Ultracold Plasmas | | 06. Sep 2010 → 17. Sep 2010; Dresden, Deutschland | | Zusammenfassung: n recent years there has been an explosion of activity on cold Rydberg gases resulting in a diverse range of exciting developments that combine aspects of atomic and molecular physics, nonlinear optics, statistical physics, quantum information science, condensed matter and plasma physics. The aim of this workshop is to promote scientific exchange and interaction between researchers working in these and related areas. The workshop will cover a range of topics, including the dynamics and exotic phases of strongly interacting quantum systems, as occurring in ultracold molecular and Rydberg gases, coherent control of Rydberg atoms and molecules, with applications in quantum optics and quantum information, formation of Rydberg and antimatter atoms and their interactions with strong fields and solid state interfaces, as well as ultracold plasma physics. The two week event is part of a Tandem Workshop program with the Institute for Theoretical Atomic, Molecular and Optical Physics (ITAMP) at the Harvard-Smithsonian Center for Astrophysics (see\\ http://www.cfa.harvard.edu/itamp/Rydberg09.html). The first workshop week will consist of invited talks and contributed poster presentations. During the second week we will provide extensive time for informal talks and discussions among a smaller number of researchers, intended to explore common interests and possibly initiate collaborative work. | | Webseite: http://www.pks.mpg.de/~cryp10/ | | Verwandte Fachgebiete: Festkörperphysik: Tieftemperaturphysik; Atomphysik | | | | 4. | [ID=322732]PSE 2010 — 12th International Conference on Plasma Surface Engineering | | 13. Sep 2010 → 17. Sep 2010; Garmisch-Partenkirchen, Deutschland | | Zusammenfassung: The Twelfth International Conference on Plasma Surface Engineering - PSE 2010 - will be held in Garmisch-Partenkirchen, Germany from Monday, September 13 to Friday, September 17, 2010. The biennial PSE conference series is organized by the European Joint Committee on Plasma and Ion Surface Engineering. With a continuously growing interest in the preceding PSE events, with more than 700 participants from all over the world in 2008, PSE is a well-established and leading forum in the field of plasma as well as ion- and particle-beam assisted surface modification and thin film technologies. PSE provides an opportunity to present recent progress in research and development and industrial applications. Its topics span a wide range from fundamentals such as e.g. process modelling and simulation or thin physics, through empirical studies which e.g. establish the relationships between process parameters and the structural and functional properties of modified surfaces and/or thin films, towards the application in industrial production. With numerous industrial exhibitors and an exceptionally large fraction of participants from industry (more than 30% in 2008), a special feature of PSE is the intimate and vivid interaction between those being involved in basic research and those who have to meet the rapidly increasing demands in the industrial production. | | Webseite: http://www.pse2010.net | | Verwandte Fachgebiete: Ingenieurwesen | | | | 6. | [ID=304238]ICPM 3 — 3rd International Conference for Plasma Medicine | | 19.
