Zusammenfassung: The Technical Conference of the Society of Vacuum Coaters is a forum for the interchange of information between those engaged in the use and development of vacuum coatings for large- and small-scale applications. Presentations will be made in technical sessions on the following topics: Symposium on Cleantech Energy Conversion and Storage, Hot Topic Session on “High Power Impulse Magnetron Sputtering (HIPIMS),” and a Joint Session on “Atmospheric Plasma Technologies.” Other technical ses-sions cover Vacuum Processes and Coatings for Health Care Applications, Optical Coating, Vacuum Web Coating, Tribological & Decorative Coating, Plasma Processing, Process Modeling and Control, Large Area Coating, and Emerging Technologies. The Heuréka! Post Deadline Evening session allows presen-tations to be made on new research achievements, and recent developments for new applications. The Vendor Innovators Showcase and Live Product Demos will be presented by vendors on new products and services in the Exhibit Hall. The popular Poster Session and Exhibit take place on May 11—12, 2009. In addition the Technology Forum Breakfast topics, “Meet the Experts” Corner, and the Donald M. Mattox Tutorial Program provide additional opportunities for high quality interactions.

Zusammenfassung: We are pleased to invite you to attend the IEEE Nuclear and Plasma Sciences Society International Conference on Plasma Science (ICOPS) and Symposium on Fusion Engineering (SOFE). These two conferences will be co-located in San Diego at the Omni hotel, adjacent to Petco Park (home of the San Diego Padres), the Gaslamp Quarter, Seaport Village, and the Embarcadero. The San Diego trolley is accessible just steps from the entrance.

Zusammenfassung: The 2008 OSA topical meeting Plasmonics and Metamaterials will bring together the two scientific communities of plasmonics and metamaterials, both of which deal with tailored nanoscale metal/dielectric structures. The meeting will cover all experimental and theoretical aspects of this rapidly emerging field ranging from fundamental science to applications/products, such as biological sensing. The scope comprises linear optical characterization, polarization manipulation, near-field optics, sub-wavelength focusing, enhanced nonlinear optical phenomena, ultrafast optics, and quantum optics. In addition, corresponding novel approaches regarding nanofabrication and quantitative numerical simulation are of particular interest.

Zusammenfassung: The 2010 Winter Conference on Plasma Spectrochemistry is the 16th in a series of biennial meeting featuring developments in plasma spectrochemical analyses by inductively coupled plasma and other optical and electrical sources. Over 300 papers describing applications, fundamentals, and instrumental developments with plasma sources will be presented in lecture and poster sessions by more than 200 authors. Twelve symposia organized and chaired by recognized experts, a three-day instrument exhibit, and 50 pre-conference half-day training courses will be featured. The meeting will convene at the Sanibel Harbour Resort and Spa in Fort Myers, Florida.
