Perioperative Surgical Home and Enhanced Recovery After Surgery — Interdisciplinary Conference on Orthopedic Value Based Care
ID
844995
Dates
21 Jan 2017 - 22 Jan 2017
Location
Newport Beach, United States
Abstract
Be part of a ground breaking immersion weekend” that focuses on bundled payments, Perioperative Surgical Home and Enhanced Recovery, and the TEAM approach critical to success. This multidisciplinary conference strives to gather ALL healthcare providers and administrators who are involved in the episode of care of an orthopedic patient. The conference aims at providing a foundation to both clinicians and healthcare executives who are interested in creating a comprehensive orthopedic bundle clinical, operational and payment model in their organization. The course focuses on a triple aim approach to such a model and is directed on care redesign using innovation models such as Enhanced Recovery and Perioperative Surgical Home to increase patient and provider involvement.

Mandatory bundle payments are coming and they affect all clinicians and hospitals. Two weeks ago, CMS announced two new additional bundle payment models. We submit that to be successful in a bundle model, you have to apply the triple aim approach that includes transformative care redesign, increased patient and provider engagement, and resource control. This conference is focusing on these three elements. We have engaged 20 speakers that will deliver 39 lectures in 3 parallel tracks. These speakers include Orthopedic Surgeons, Hospital Executives, Anesthesiologists, CRNAs, Hospitalists, Nurses, Pharma Executives, Gain Sharing experts. The 3 parallel tracks in our Conference will focus on: rules of bundle payments, how operationally to build an effective Perioperative Surgical Home and Enhanced Recover models, and how to clinically manage these patients in the most optimal way.

ID

Dates
30 Mar 2017 - 02 Apr 2017
Location
Putrajaya, Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia
Abstract
Trauma forms the most important part of Orthopaedic Surgery. In many ways most of us signed up to orthopaedic training because we were so taken by the biology and mechanics of trauma care. Trauma encompasses all parts of the orthopaedic anatomy and all age ranges from infants to pensioners. Though specialisation is the key to developing a pure understanding of an area, it is important that every trauma surgeon or allied health professional be exposed to the many different fields of trauma care. This will not only aid us in understanding the underlying principles that govern the treatment of different cases, but also allow us to better serve our patients. This meeting is designed so that we can cover a limited of set of topics greater detail through instructional course lectures. There will also be opportunities for surgeons to bring cases for forum discussion, providing a greater width with specific end-points. With this we hope that the model can be replicated at subsequent venues andyet remain fresh.

Abstract
On behalf of Asian Federation Of Osteoporosis Societies (AFOS), it gives me great pleasure to welcome you warmly to the 5th Annual Scientific Meeting in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. The AFOS conference is fully intended to provide a platform for discussions and interaction so that together we can gain a better insight on osteoporosis and to advance research and collaboration across the region. From the laboratory bench to new therapeutic agents; from epidemiology to clinical outcome; from new ideas to fresh research data; there will be plenty to discuss and impart.
