The New South Wales branch of the Australasian Radiation Protection Society is pleased to host the 42nd ARPS Conference. Scheduled to take place from 6 – 9 August 2017, in the beach side city of Wollongong. With the theme “Science and the Art of Radiation Protection: Broadening the Horizon” the conference aims to enrich understanding of non-ionising and ionising radiation, highlight the importance of effective communication and stakeholder involvement, showcase new technologies, and generate discussion across a broad range of radiation protection aspects from ethics to environment to industry.

Radiation safety professionals face continuing challenges with evolving standards, increased proliferation of complex radiation technologies, such as medical sector radiation applications, in an environment of tight resources and increased regulatory scrutiny. The 2018 Congress will offer the opportunity for face to face discussion in all areas of our profession.
