ICRA'17 — 1st International Conference on Radiations and Applications
20 Nov 2017 - 23 Nov 2017 • Algiers, Algeria
Abstract:
The first International Conference on Radiations and Applications (following six issues of the former National Conference on Radiations and Applications) will be jointly organized by the Faculty of Physics of Houari Boumediene University of Science and Technology (USTHB), SNIRM and LEQ laboratories and the Algerian Association of Physics (AAP), in Algiers, Algeria, from 20 to 23 November 2017. The conference will have the support of Direction Générale de la Recherche Scientifique et du Développement Technologique (DGRSDT). The main goals of the conference are to allow exchange between scientists working on various aspects of radiation physics, enhance collaboration between physicists and promote partnerships between universities and research centers.

NCRP2017 — National Conference on Radiation Physics
23 Nov 2017 - 24 Nov 2017 • Bangalore, India
Abstract:
The main theme of the conference is Advances in Radiation Physics research. Radiation has wide applications in almost all walks of our life. It is necessary to understand the origin, properties and effects of these radiations on the medium which results in physical, chemical & biological effects. In addition, there are several situations in which, the human beings come in contact with the radiations mainly in research, medical, industries, nuclear power plants, agriculture and spacecraft applications. Safety use and control of radiations is very essential for the personnel involved in these fields. Hence, it is a standard practice for the radiation workers to optimise the radiation exposure as low as reasonably achievable. Accordingly, the present conference is specifically planned with the above focal theme. The scientific programme of the conference includes plenary and invited talks by eminent scientists from premier institutions such as BARC (Mumbai), AMD (Hyderabad & Bengaluru), IGCAR (Kalpakkam), CAT (INDORE), VECC (Kolkatta), SINP (Kolkatta), Universities, and contributory oral and poster presentations by delegates

ICOND 2017 — International Conference on Nuclear Decommissioning 2017
27 Nov 2017 - 30 Nov 2017 • Aachen, Germany
Abstract:
The closure and the decommissioning of nuclear power plants, particularly power reactors, pose high demands regarding planning and authorization to all parties involved. In the ongoing decade several nuclear power plants will be shut down due to their operating life and political decisions, not only in Europe but also worldwide. With regard to these circumstances there is a need for optimized decommissioning strategies, which have to be well coordinated among all participants.

The focus of this conference is set on the legal parameters in Germany. It also compares the degree of the decommissioning task with other countries e.g. South Korea. Apart from authorization and financial planning, change management plays an important role in the transition period from nuclear power plant to decommissioning project. The interim storage and disposal of radioactive waste, which will be decisive for future decommissioning projects, is another topic that will be covered at the conference.

AOCRP-5 — 5th Asian & Oceanic Regional Congress on Radiation Protection
20 May 2018 - 23 May 2018 • Melbourne, Australia
Abstract:
This Congress will be the international meeting for 2018 in the Asia-Pacific Region and offers the opportunity to meet and discuss radiation safety matters in all areas of application of ionizing and non-ionizing radiation. Radiation safety professionals face continuing challenges with evolving standards, increased proliferation of complex radiation technologies, such as medical sector radiation applications, in an environment of tight resources and increased regulatory scrutiny. The 2018 Congress will offer the opportunity for face to face discussion in all areas of our profession.
