8th Friends of Friends Meeting – Linking astronomy and friends in Córdoba

The FoF is a yearly international meeting that gathers researchers from several countries around the world with the purpose of foster interactions with local researchers and promote the creation of new collaboration networks. The meeting is organized jointly by the Instituto de Astronomía Teórica y Experimental (IATE) and the Observatorio Astronómico de Córdoba (OAC). The event encourage the strong participation of researchers and doctoral and posdoctoral students from the local community. Among the topics covered throughout the meeting are Cosmology, Large Scale Structure, Extragalactic Astronomy, Star Astrophysics, Planetary Systems and Astrophysical Plasmas.

The Local Organizing Committee of the 8th Friends of Friends Meeting is pleased to announce the next edition of this meeting, to be held in the Astronomical Observatory of Córdoba, located in the city of Córdoba, from April 3rd through 6th of 2018. The FoF Meeting is a yearly international meeting that gathers researchers from several countries around the world, jointly organized by the Institute of Theoretical and Experimental Astronomy (IATE, http://iate.oac.uncor.edu ) and the Astronomical Observatory of Córdoba (OAC, http://oac.unc.edu.ar). It aims at enhancing interactions between members of the local and international communities and promoting the creation of new collaboration networks.

The purpose of this School is to present the state-of-the-art in Cosmology, discussing the latest developments from both theoretical and observational points of view. Lectures will be given by international experts and the programme includes optional lab sessions for students. It is intended for graduate students, as well as junior researchers.
