Abstract:
IMLB 2020 is the premier international conference on the state of lithium battery science and technology, as well as current and future related battery systems for application in transportation, industry, grid storage, aviation, aerospace, biomedical, and other promising sectors. Convening in Berlin, the conference is expected to draw more than 1,000 experts, researchers, and company representatives involved in the advanced battery field. IMLB will provide a stimulating forum to discuss recent progress in advanced lithium and alternative batteries for energy storage and conversion. The meeting will focus on both basic and applied research findings that have led to improved battery materials, and to the understanding of the fundamental processes that determine and control performance.

Abstract:
Der Fortschritt der Elektromobilität durch die erfolgreichen Markteinführungen zahlreicher hochelektrifizierter Fahrzeuge und der ständig steigende Druck zur Verringerung der weltweiten CO2-Emissionen, der sich durch die Ergebnisse des Pariser Klimagipfels weiter erhöht, beschäftigen weiterhin die gesamte Automobil- und Zulieferindustrie und die darauf ausgerichtete Forschung und Wissenschaft. Darüber hinaus entstehen Wechselwirkungen mit der fortschreitenden Digitalisierung, die sich speziell auch durch den aktuellen Trend hin zum hochautomatisierten oder autonomen Fahren auf die zukünftige Elektromobilität auswirken wird. Die Konzepte für Elektrofahrzeuge, Plug-In-Hybride, Vollhybride bis hin zu Mikrohybriden und Fahrzeugen mit Start-Stopp-Funktionalitäten nehmen einerseits immer konkretere Formen an, werden aber andererseits hinsichtlich Kosten und Effizienz sowie durch autonomes Fahren mit immer höheren Anforderungen konfrontiert.
