Applying Precision Medicine to the Treatment of Hematologic Diseases
28 Apr 2018 • Boston, United States
This activity will highlight the most recent advances in personalizing treatment in various hematologic diseases such as amyloidosis, multiple myeloma, sickle cell anemia, chronic lymphocytic leukemia, myelodysplastic syndrome, B-cell lymphomas and Hodgkin lymphoma. The role of novel therapies such as small molecules and natural killer cells in precision medicine will also be discussed. Overall, the proposed educational agenda will enable attendees to remain abreast of and integrate critical updates in precision medicine for improved treatment and management of hematologic diseases.

Keystone Symposia: Novel Aspects of Bone Biology
13 Jun 2018 - 16 Jun 2018 • Snowbird, Utah, United States
This conference presents recent progress made in two relatively novel areas of skeletal biology not covered by other meetings. The first one is the cross-talk between bone, hematopoiesis and leukemogenesis. The second is the study of the multiple endocrine functions of bone and how their study impacts on our understanding of multiple degenerative diseases. Meetings of bone biology are traditionally dominated by the need to explain the bases and to propose treatments for the most frequent bone disease: osteoporosis. Aside from this very vivid field, two other aspects of bone biology have developed in the last decade. A feature shared by these two aspects of biology is that they link bone biology to multiple other organs and to other functions besides making bones. These two aspects are the dialog between bone and hematopoiesis, whether physiological or pathological, and the endocrine functions of bone. This conference will showcase the many advances made in these two aspects of skeleton biology and how these developments have enriched our understanding of the pathogenesis of multiple degenerative diseases affecting the bone marrow, energy metabolism or the brain. Because of its very nature, this meeting will bring together investigators from different fields rarely provided with an opportunity to meet.

2018 ASH Meeting on Lymphoma Biology
02 Aug 2018 - 05 Aug 2018 • Chantilly, VA, United States
The ASH Meeting on Lymphoma Biology was established in 2014 to address an unmet need in the lymphoma community: to serve as the only U.S.-based forum specifically focused on basic and translational science relevant to lymphoma and chronic lymphocytic leukemia. The central goal of the meeting is to bring together experts from around the world to discuss the latest lymphoma fundamental science, address current challenges in the field, establish the highest priorities for investigation, and develop novel therapeutics.

Thrombosis and Thromboembolism 2018
18 Oct 2018 - 19 Oct 2018 • Boston, MA, United States
Offered only once every 3 years, this special Harvard Medical School CME course provides a comprehensive review of the most important changes and advances impacting the care of patients who have—or are at risk for—thrombosis and thromboembolism. Updates in diagnosis, treatment and prevention are provided by world-renowned experts and Harvard Medical School’s leading clinical faculty. This program has provided practical and timely education about innovations in this field since 1987. First-time and returning attendees consistently report that the knowledge they acquire from this update changes their practice and drives better outcomes for patients. Participants will learn state-of-the-art approaches to preventing VTE in medically ill patients; how dual anti-platelet therapy can prevent MI, stroke, and leg amputation; improved stroke prediction and prevention; and a better understanding of the link between inflammation and thrombotic illnesses.
