25 Sep 2008 → 28 Sep 2008; Platja d'Aro, Spain

abstract: Although the number of the participants in the three subsequent editions remained almost constant (about 40 researchers coming from different countries) the high quality of the lectures and the active participation of all the members to informal and actual discussions have greatly contributed to the success of each meeting and to the thick network of collaborations among the groups. In the HALCHEM meetings all the groups have obtained enough time to show their main interests and all the topics regarding the chemistry of the halogens (such as synthetic and theoretical aspects, spectroscopy, metal powder activation by CT adducts, supramolecular chemistry, hypervalent halogen compounds, …) has been welcome. Hypervalence was the reason to introduce other elements besides the most traditional halogens, consequently, the subject of the congress was extended to other molecules incorporating main group elements having more than eight electrons

abstract: Carbon Capture and Storage is the most exciting proposition for reducing emissions and tackling climate change across a broad range of industries. Institute members throughout the world are working on challenging R&D projects to bring the technology into commercial reality. In order for the technology to develop engineers need to take the lead in ensuring the public accept this emerging technology by addressing key issues with carbon dioxide capture, transmission and sub surface sequestration. The aim of this seminar is to explore the technologies available to design power plants for carbon capture, the technologies for the capture process itself and the provisions will allow carbon capture to be installed at a later date, transportation options for carbon dioxide and the technology and options for storage of carbon dioxide.

25 Nov 2008 → 26 Nov 2008; Tlemcen, Algeria

34.go to top of page[ID=198036]Fluororganische Chemie in Theorie und Praxis
16 Feb 2009 → 18 Feb 2009; Bremen, Germany

03 Jan 2010 → 09 Jan 2010; Fort Myers, Florida, United States

abstract: The 2010 Winter Conference on Plasma Spectrochemistry is the 16th in a series of biennial meeting featuring developments in plasma spectrochemical analyses by inductively coupled plasma and other optical and electrical sources. Over 300 papers describing applications, fundamentals, and instrumental developments with plasma sources will be presented in lecture and poster sessions by more than 200 authors. Twelve symposia organized and chaired by recognized experts, a three-day instrument exhibit, and 50 pre-conference half-day training courses will be featured. The meeting will convene at the Sanibel Harbour Resort and Spa in Fort Myers, Florida.

topics: plasma spectrochemistry, elemental analysis, inductively coupled plamsa, laser ablation, LIBS, glow discharges, sample introduction and transport phenomena, elemental speciation, plasma instrumentation, microplasmas, sample preparation, excitation mechanisms, plasma phenomena, spectroscopic standards and reference materials, plasma source emission and mass spectrometry, stable isotope analysis, laser-assisted spectrochemistry, chemical analysis, applications, clinical and biological imaging analyses, nutraceutical and pharamceutical analyses, forensic analyses and provenancing, earth and marine and geological sciences, environmental sciences, petroleum and semiconductor materials analyses, advanced materials and surfaces analyses
