 Abstract 5th CESPC is focused on presenting the latest results and exchanging new ideas in the field of applications of plasmas for materials processing, surface modification, medicine, environmental protection and related areas, with emphasis on plasma chemistry. The main aim of the symposium is to accelerate the development of plasma-based technologies, dedicated to areas including environmental protection and improvement of quality of life. The four-day format of the symposium provides excellent opportunities for both formal presentations and informal discussions. To prolong the lifetime of the symposium, participants are offered the option to publish their contributions as full papers in a thematic issue of the peer-reviewed international journal "Central European Journal of Chemistry".
