NUINT 2024 is jointly organized by the State University of Campinas (UNICAMP) and by the Brazilian Center for Research in Physics (CBPF)

NUINT 24 is the 14th in a series of workshops concentrating on neutrino-nucleus interactions. The goal of the whole series is to bring theorists and experimentalists from the nuclear and high-energy community together to address the many challenges of understanding these complex interactions. This edition will be held in São Paulo, Brazil.

As novel reactor concepts approach deployment, reactor physicists are faced with new stimulating challenges to move simulation blueprints towards real-world implementation. In San Francisco, the world’s cradle of innovations, PHYSOR 2024 will cast the spotlight on the latest advancements in reactor physics and related nuclear technologies and debate the challenges that need to be addressed. The conference aims to provide a platform for international experts from vendors, utilities, research laboratories, and universities to exchange ideas and latest developments on a wide spectrum of topics. Studying the nucleon excitation spectrum provides a toolset to investigate the strong interaction in the non-perturbative regime and allows us to understand how the various baryons emerge from quantum chromodynamics (QCD).

The studies of the nucleonic systems and the nuclear interaction reveal key scientific connections between phenomena on microscopic and macroscopic scales: from the Standard Model of particle physics and nuclear reactions leading to the creation of the elements, to the equation of state of nuclear matter and neutron stars observed via multimessenger astronomy. Precise and accurate predictions of nuclear observables are called for, along the way. With technological advances and theoretical improvements, nuclear physics is progressively entering a precision era that benefits such studies. In order to improve theoretical explanations and find new experimental designs, assessment of both experimental and theoretical uncertainties is essential. Thus the community of nuclear scientists is working towards the quantification and reduction of uncertainties using different approaches. The workshop will focus on discussing the challenges and opportunities of this endeavor from different perspectives, including recent progress in chiral effective field theory, many-body theory, and new emulator techniques that facilitate uncertainty quantification. We want to pay special attention to the applications of Bayesian approaches which offer a better framework to deal with uncertainties in nuclear physics.

The conference is hosted jointly by GSI/FAIR and the TU Darmstadt.

In keeping the tradition of this conference series, the meeting will be of a relatively informal character: no proceedings will be published. The program of the meeting will consist of contributed presentations and posters to be selected based on the submitted abstracts, in addition to keynote opening talks. The conference program will focus on new results, in particular presentations of yet unpublished results. We strongly encourage students and other junior researchers to participate.

In this summer school, we will discuss a variety of theoretical approaches for computing nuclear reaction observables. We plan to introduce some of the most utilized reaction methods, namely the eikonal approximation, DWBA, ADWA, CDCC and Faddeev methods. This 3-day course will be useful for both theorists and experimentalists interested in learning the fundamentals of reaction methods. This will also be a wonderful opportunity for the participants to start collaborations with each other or the instructors on projects beyond the duration of summer school. The aim of the workshop is: to discuss Neutrino Oscillation Physics, in particular current experimental data and their theoretical interpretation; to outline future investigations of neutrino masses and mixings; and to explore the links with various research fields in Astroparticle Physics and Cosmology. The structure of the NOW 2024 Workshop will include four plenary and parallel sessions: I – Standard three-neutrino oscillations; II – Beyond the standard framework; III – Neutrino masses, states and interactions; IV – Particle physics from the sky and the cosmos; plus an extra (only plenary) session: Crossing the portal. Depending on the reaction channel, direct determinations of neutron-induced reaction cross sections on stable and unstable isotopes for energies above 1 keV cross face different challenges. Neutron capture, neutron-induced fission, charged-particle production, elastic and inelastic scatterings are important and of interest for astrophysics and nuclear applications. With the existing neutron beam capabilities, available radioactive isotope productions, and ideas for future facilities, we want to discuss directions and possible solutions for current challenges in an informal and constructive atmosphere. In particular the usage of ion storage rings to investigate neutron-induced reactions will be a focus of the IReNA workshop.

The purpose of the meeting is to bring together experts and young researchers in the area of nuclear structure physics and nuclear astrophysics to discuss the current status of the field and to explore future directions, both in experiment and theory. With recent developments in instrumentation, theoretical tools and numerical simulations as well as significant progress in experiment and observation, the meeting is particularly timely. The aim is to cover a broad range of topics to elucidate synergies and identify areas of future progress. This should be especially beneficial to the younger participants of the meeting.

The nineteenth edition of the series "Selected Topics in Nuclear and Atomic Physics" will take place from October the 4th to October the 8th, 2024. Since 1999 we have moved the site of the meeting from Varenna, its traditional site, to Fiera di Primiero, a small town in the Italian Dolomites. IEEE International Conference on Plasma Science (ICOPS) is an annual conference coordinated by the Plasma Science and Application Committee (PSAC) of the IEEE Nuclear & Plasma Sciences Society.

The INTW-2024 is jointly organized by Selcuk University and J.W. Goethe University and the Helmholtz Research Academy Hesse for FAIR (HFHF).

The aim of INTW-2024 is to provide an international forum for discussions and collaborations about new scientific developments and driplines border of physics between researchers in nuclear physics and related areas.
