Conferences and Meetings on Radiation Protection

Conference-Service.com offers, as part of our business activities, a directory of upcoming scientific and technical meetings. The calendar is published for the convenience of conference participants and we strive to support conference organisers who need to publish their upcoming events. Although great care is being taken to ensure the correctness of all entries, we cannot accept any liability that may arise from the presence, absence or incorrectness of any particular information on this website. Always check with the meeting organiser before making arrangements to participate in an event!

Meeting organisers can submit meetings free of charge for inclusion into the listing.

LUMIDOZ10 — 10th International Conference on Luminescence and ESR Dosimetry
ID
800876
Dates
05 Sep 2016 - 07 Sep 2016
Location
Adana, Turkey
Abstract
In the past few years, the  LumiDoz Conferences series  were successfully held at Middle East Technical University (2007), Celal Bayar University (2008), Ege University (2009), Gaziantep University (2010), Mersin University (2011), Celal Bayar University (2012), Suleyman Demirel University (2013), Ankara University (2014) and Akdeniz University (2015). In the beginning, these gatherings were restricted to Turkish researchers but for the past three years they have been held as international conference. Following the success of the previous nine editions, this year, ukurova University will host the 10 th International Conference on Luminescence and ESR Dosimetry  on September 5 th -7 th, 2016.  We are glad to follow well established traditions. The conference is bilingual, both in English and Turkish. Abstracts will be submitted in English and presentations can be accepted either in English or in Turkish. Should the need arise, sessions will be held in two different halls. In addition to presentations on general topics, various presentations and discussions will be staged by professional scientists.

NORMVIII — Eighth International Symposium on Naturally Occurring Radioactive Material
ID
748212
Dates
18 Oct 2016 - 21 Oct 2016
Location
Rio de Janeiro, Brazil
Abstract
All minerals and raw materials contain radionuclides of natural origin. Usually, the levels of exposure to these radionuclides are not significantly greater than normal background levels. However in some industries (NORM industries), certain activities can give rise enhanced levels of radioactivity in their products, sub products, residues and wastes in such way that may need to be controlled by regulation. A list of industry sectors have been identified as the most likely to produce NORM: oil and gas production, the niobium and iron-niobium industry, manufacture of titanium dioxide pigments, the phosphate industry, the zircon and zirconia industry, and many other conventional mining and milling industries. The NORM occurrence is a challenge for the industries, which must comply with standards from nuclear industries in addition to the usual environmental and worker safety requirements. The NORMVIII symposium will address the radiation protection control of NORM, and will include the results of new research, explore practical case studies of industrial applications and waste disposal practices, evaluate the practical implication of international and national standards as well as identifying new societal needs and technical requirements for regulators and industry on NORM. Possible solutions for using, recycling and disposal of NORM residues will be another focus area, as well as the quality of NORM sampling and measurements. The event is an essential platform for NORM industries, academic and research institutions, and regulatory authorities to share experiences, review progress made, identify opportunities and provide an in-depth analysis of current challenges. The symposium offers a multitude of possibilities and opportunities for networking.
