PNG2020 — A cosmic window to Fundamental Physics: Primordial Non-Gaussianity and beyond
21 Sep 2020 - 25 Sep 2020 • Madrid, Spain
Organizer:
Instituto de Física Teórica (UAM-CSIC)
Abstract:
The aim of the workshop is to bring together experts on the topic of Primordial Non-Gaussianities (PNG), with special focus on Large Scale Structure probes in the era of stage-IV experiments. We will also foster discussion about lightcone effects (aka GR effects), observational systematics, the role of upcoming CMB experiments, Gravitational Waves, Multitracers and about the origin of PNG.

Baryons-2020 — International Conference on the Structure of Baryons
22 Sep 2020 - 25 Sep 2020 • Seville, Spain
Organizer:
Pablo de Olavide University, Seville; University of Seville; and University of Huelva
Abstract:
This conference series began in 1970 at Duke University. The Seville meeting follows the successful events in Glasgow (2013) and Tallahassee (2016); and canvass similar themes. It will highlight the physics of baryons and related subjects in astro-, nuclear- and particle-physics, developing our understanding of the spectrum, structure and reactions of baryons using all available tools. Particular emphasis will be placed on elucidating the role of confinement and emergent mass, key non-perturbative phenomena within the Standard Model. Recent developments at existing facilities and those anticipated from the next-generation will also be showcased.

WAO2020 — 12th Workshop on Accelerator Operations
04 Oct 2020 - 09 Oct 2020 • Barcelona, Spain
Organizer:
ALBA Synchrotron
Abstract:
The 12th Workshop on Accelerator Operations (WAO) will take place in Barcelona (Spain), from October 4th to October 9th, 2020. WAO’2020 will be hosted by the ALBA Synchrotron and the Worskhop venue will be the Parc de Recerca Biomèdica located on the Barceloneta seafront downtown in Barcelona.

The objective of the workshop is to create an open forum for those involved in the daily operation of particle accelerators to present, discuss, and exchange ideas with their peers from around the world. Accelerator operations staff from facilities of all sizes gather to collaborate on topics such as accelerator operation, performance, organization, maintenance, documentation, software, control room layout, remote operation, and safety. It also serves the accelerator operations community to establish benchmarks by facilitating comparisons of methods, efficiencies, costs, reliability, beam quality and other performance measures. The workshop style atmosphere, which allows for interpersonal communication, is organized with scheduled talks, a poster session, and discussion periods; along with the opportunity for further discussion at breaks and meals.
