abstract: The International Conference on Computers, Communications & Control (ICCCC) (founded in 2006 by I. Dziţac, F.G. Filip and M.-J. Manolescu and organized every even year) provides a forum for international scientists in academia and industry to present and discuss their latest research findings on a broad array of topics in computer networking and control. The 84 papers selected from the ICCCC 2006 (event dedicated to the centenary of Grigore C. Moisil (19006-1973) - a pioneer in computer science, principal invited keynote speaker Solomon Marcus) and 90 papers selected from the ICCCC 2008 (event dedicated to the centenary of John Bardeen (1908-1991), principal invited keynote speaker Lotfi A. Zadeh), published in supplementary issues of International Journal of Computers, Communications & Control (IJCCC), are covered in ISI Web of Science. We extend a warm invitation to all interested in the related topics to submit papers and to participate in a hopefully successful event. The Program Committee is soliciting paper describing original, previously unpublished, completed research, not currently under review by another conference or journal, addressing state-of-the-art research and development in all areas related to computer networking and control. The publishing policy of ICCCC 2010 encourages particularly the publishing of scientific papers that are focused on the convergence of the 3 „C” (Computing, Communications, Control). Topics of interest include, but are not limited to, the following: * Applications of the Information Systems * Artificial Intelligence * Automata and Formal Languages * Collaborative Working Environments * Computational Mathematics * Cryptography and Security * E-Activities * Fuzzy Systems * Informatics in Control * Information Society - Knowledge Society * Natural Computing * Network Design & Internet Services * Multimedia & Communications * Parallel and Distributed Computing * Web Science “Thomson Reuters Subject Category of IJCCC: AUTOMATION & CONTROL SYSTEMS Category Description: Automation & Control Systems covers resources on the design and development of processes and systems that minimize the necessity of human intervention. Resources in this category cover control theory, control engineering, and laboratory and manufacturing automation. COMPUTER SCIENCE, INFORMATION SYSTEMS Category Description: Computer Science, Information Systems covers resources that focus on the acquisition, processing, storage, management, and dissemination of electronic information that can be read by humans, machines, or both. This category also includes resources for telecommunications systems and discipline-specific subjects such as medical informatics, chemical information processing systems, geographical information systems, and some library science.”

07 Jul 2010 → 09 Jul 2010; Prague, Czech Republic

abstract: Currently, a number of institutions across the countries are working to evolve better models to provide collaborative technology services for scholarship by creating shared cyberspace thro expert collaboration, but this is a challenge for the institutions for a number of reasons. In the last few years, the landscape of digital technology applications projects for the various disciplines in humanities, social sciences, and sciences appears induced by many initiatives. For the creation of research clusters, the research community has thousands of databases, websites, local computing clusters, and web-based tools around individual themes, interests and projects. In most cases, these tools and resources are and were created to meet the specific needs of a particular community. In many cases, the funding and support for these critical initiatives is fragile and temporary, and directed in piecemeal fashion. There is a need to provide concerted efforts in building federated digital technologies that will enable the formation of network of digital technologies.

abstract: Information Technologies in their broad sense have been profoundly changing the ways, the processes and the philosophies of businesses. Adaptive business applications support processes whose workflows, user interfaces and business rules often change. The need for these dynamic applications is greater now than ever before and business systems in every perspective, management, workflow, information, infrastructure, etc. are evolving themselves towards being autonomic, adaptive, self-managing, self-organizing, and so forth. Emerging technologies such business rules management systems, complex event processing engines, event-driven business process management tools, corporate semantic web technologies, etc. are now gaining increasing momentum as they promise enhanced adaptive and agility capabilities to businesses, in order to sense unexpected environmental changes and to respond to business opportunities or to avoid business risks that turn up in a turbulent and quickly changing business environment.

07 Nov 2010 → 10 Nov 2010; Rome, Italy
organizer: University of Rome

abstract: The inter-disciplinary approach is becoming an increasing need in scientific and industrial communities. The most evident example of such a need is represented by the strong interconnection between biomedical and communication engineering. On the one hand, ICT can provide new tools for making healthcare systems more efficient and responsive in order to supply in-the-home and mobile healthcare solutions. On the other hand, many of the most recent advances in communication technologies – from algorithms to the electronics and materials – are “bio-inspired”. Moreover, it is increasing the awareness of the great potentials offered by the synergistic combination of many disciplines (e.g., mathematics and physics, biology and chemistry) in both biomedical and communication engineering. This conference aims at creating a stage where researchers, scientists and business people can discuss and share ideas at the frontiers of life sciences, pure sciences and engineering. The global interest towards a sustainable Planet is forcing the industrial and scientific worlds to seek for “sustainable” engineering solutions in order to preserve the natural environment and efficiently exploit the energy, which is a limited resource. Hence, from 2010 onward, ISABEL will also look upon the application of sciences in biomedical and communication engineering so as to develop novel technologies and solutions that can make our lives “greener”.
