BIOGEOMON — The 9th International Symposium on Ecosystem Behavior
20 Aug 2017 - 24 Aug 2017 • Litomysl, Czech Republic
Abstract:
BIOGEOMON, the 9th International Symposium on Ecosystem Behavior, will focus on biogeochemistry in an era of global change. Long-term trends in ecosystem functioning and stoichiometry of biogeochemical processes in pland and wetland soils will be emphasized, along with small catchment monitoring/modelling, and translocations of nutrients, micronutrients and trace metals/metaloids in forest ecosystems, grasslands, and extreme environments. Studies using traditional and novel isotope systems, such as N, C, S, O, Ca, Mg, Zn, Cu, Cd and Cr, in environmental research will be presented. Futher highlights will include linking microbial communities with element pools and fluxes, mainly in forest ecosystems, and ecosystem restoration, relabilitation and management.

IMOG 2017 — 28th International Meeting on Organic Geochemistry
17 Sep 2017 - 22 Sep 2017 • Florence, Italy
Abstract:
The 28th International Meeting on Organic Geochemistry (IMOG 2017) will be held in Florence (Italy), during September 17-22, 2017. For the first time the conference will be organized by the European Association of Organic Geochemists in cooperation with the House of Geoscience (HOG). IMOG 2017, the official biennial conference of the European Association of Organic Geochemists (EAOG) is the largest meeting on Organic Geochemistry. The EAOG (founded in 1983) has over 450 members from all around the world and seeks to promote organic geochemistry in its broadest sense. The guiding principle of the IMOG meetings is to encourage presentation, communication and discussion of research results carried out in academia and industry in the fields of Organic Geochemistry with topics ranging from Biogeochemistry to Petroleum Geochemistry. A scientific programme will be designed to fulfil this goal, with an outstanding collection of oral and poster presentations to cover the diverse aspects of organic geochemistry research, its application and integration into studies highly relevant for the advance of the science and industrial applications.

CC17 — 7th International Conference on Clays in Natural and Engineered Barriers for Radioactive Waste Confinement
24 Sep 2017 - 27 Sep 2017 • Davos, Switzerland
Abstract:
The next International Conference on Clays in Natural and Engineered Barriers for Radioactive Waste Confinement will take place from 24 – 27 September 2017 in Davos (Switzerland). Like former editions, the 7th Clay Conference will gather together specialists in the different disciplines related to clays and clay minerals and scientists from organisations engaged in radioactive waste disposal, in order to evaluate the progress of the research being conducted in this field. The programme will cover a wide range of topics related to natural argillaceous geological barriers and clay-based engineered barrier systems, including laboratory experiments on clay samples, in situ experiments in underground research laboratories, mock-up demonstrations and natural analogues, numerical modelling and integration approaches, as well as monitoring. The conference is organised by Nagra (Switzerland), in cooperation with 12 organisations worldwide.
Topics:
