ICAM 2019 — INTERNATIONAL CONFERENCE ON AIR POLLUTION AND MONITORING
08 Mar 2019 - 11 Mar 2019 • Kottayam, Kerala, India
Organizer:
School of Environmental Sciences, Mahatma Gandhi University, Kottayam
Abstract:
Atmospheric Pollution keeps the momentum of a hot topic of research from the beginning of industrial revolution. The WHO reports point out that air pollution claims 6.5 million deaths every year. The Increased level of fine particulate matter is associated with mortality and precursor of non-communicable disease epidemic makes the research more diverse and inevitable. The detrimental effect of air pollution poses a threat to babies lives and future. The diverse types of pollutants in the air across different environments make it difficult to determine the extent of air pollution. The use of rapidly disintegrating synthetic materials, fossil fuels, and pesticides coupled with the sealing of buildings for prevention of heat / cold loss resulting in indoor air pollution.

The conference organizes by School of Environmental Sciences, Mahatma Gandhi University focuses on the developmental research works on air pollution, its chemical transformation in different environment and toxicity.

WE-CAN Workshop 2019 — Atmospheric chemistry and physics
23 Apr 2019 - 25 Apr 2019 • Boulder, CO, United States
Abstract:
Understanding the chemistry in western wildfire smoke has major ramifications for air quality, nutrient cycles, weather, and climate. Burn conditions combined with the first day of processing are major drivers of the eventual air quality and climate significance of wildfire smoke. Understanding all the processes requires the skillful interpretation of a wide suite of observations and the 2.5 day workshop at the NCAR will bring these collaborators together. The ultimate goal is to improve our fundamental understanding of the emissions of western U.S. wildfires and their chemical evolution in the atmosphere.
