Zusammenfassung: Systems Chemistry is the joint effort of prebiotic and supramolecular chemistry together with theoretical biology and complex systems research to address problems relating to the synthesis of life. The emerging field can be viewed as the bottom up pendant of systems biology towards synthetic biology. A major focus is laid on the study of autocatalytic reaction systems, such as chemical self-replicating, self-reproducing, and chiral symmetry breaking systems. The field aims at the construction of dynamic supersystems embedding at least one autocatalytic subsystem. Subsystems may be classified as genetic, metabolic, or compartiment-building. Pairwise integration into higher organized supersystems is expected to yield the knowledge enabling later the triple integration into minimal chemical cells. Finding the chemical roots of Darwinian evolvability is seen as a key challenge for the field.

The conference will convene internationally leading experts from various relevant areas to elucidate where we stand in 2008. Facets from this intriguing and truly interdisciplinary endeavour come from fields as diverse as geochemistry and organocatalysis, biomolecular chemistry and liposome technology, metal-organic chemistry and the theory of networks and evolution. Joining these facets by the unifying principle of autocatalysis leads to a new view which may be especially attractive for the next generation of chemists.

Mit der Kombination aus Ausstellung, Konferenzen, PARTNERING und dem EUROPEAN BIOTECHNICA AWARD bietet sie eine jährliche Plattform für konkrete Produktpräsentationen und Geschäftsanbahnungen sowie zum Networking und Wissensaustausch. Zusammenfassung: BioNanoTox lies at the interface of a variety of disciplines ranging from biology to chemistry, toxicology, computational sciences, mathematics, engineering, nanotechnology and biotechnology. Although undeniably multidisciplinary, this nascent field of research has had the tendency to be locked within the narrow remnants of each of its constitutive disciplines. The specific overarching aim of the BioNanoTox Conference is thus to generate new vigorous interactions between the disciplines that contribute to BioNanoTox. We expect this to be an important international and multi-disciplinary scientific and educational event. The 2008 year's program will highlight the BioNanoTox unique vantage point of looking into interdisciplinary foundation of fundamental and translational research.

Mikrobiologen, Biochemiker, Zellbiologen und Verfahrensingenieure suchen nach einem Weg, das Wachstum der Zellen (Katalysatoren) bzw. die Produktbildung möglichst optimal zu gestalten. Für fermentative bzw. biotechnologische Prozesse benötigt man insbesondere Geräte und Verfahrensstrategien, die im Seminar ausführlich erläutert werden. Ein Biologe wird die biologische/biochemische/gentechnische Seite der Bioreaktionstechnik vorstellen und ein Ingenieur wird die technischen Lösungen der Bioreaktionstechnik präsentieren.

Zusammenfassung: All cells contain a diverse range of repair pathways that have evolved to optimize their survival following damage to their DNA. These pathways involve the actions of a large number of DNA repair proteins to remove the damage and maintain genome stability. Clearly, when these processes do not function correctly, a likely result will be instability of the genome. A large body of experimental data has demonstrated that such genetic instability can cause a wide variety of human diseases. This meeting will highlight recent major advances in understanding biochemical details about how DNA repair intersects with cellular pathways that lead to cancer or ageing. The meeting is particularly timely since it is now apparent that these biochemical processes offer significant potential for novel therapies to treat diseases such as cancer.

Zusammenfassung: This course in medicinal chemistry sets out to train organic chemists to understand the key factors in discovering a new drug substance, from target selection, through lead generation and lead optimisation, to the selection of a development candidate. This will be a three day conference comprising leading figures and current topics in natural product, medicinal and agrochemistry

Zusammenfassung: The program will feature a blend of plenary presentations, discussions, special presentations by young investigators and multiple poster sessions. Scientific communications on all aspects of neuropeptide research and neuroscience in general may be submitted and can be presented as posters. Some of the submissions may be considered for oral presentations by the programme committee. Each poster abstract submission must be accompanied by one fully registered scientist.

Zusammenfassung: It is our great honor to host ICBIC 14 in Nagoya, Japan in July 25-30, 2009. The Major Subjects currently planned in ICBIC 14 includes the traditional bioinorganic subjects, in addition, we will organize metal-protein assemblies as nano-biomaterials as well as bioinspired architectures. We welcome many suggestions on the subjects to be added to ICBIC 14.

Zusammenfassung: The biannual AIMECS09 conference will be hosted by the Royal Australian Chemical Institute Division of Biomolecular Chemistry and the Asian Federation for Medicinal Chemistry in the beautiful tropical city of Cairns. The venue is on the doorstep of two world heritage listed areas - the Great Barrier Reef, and the Daintree Rainforest.

Zusammenfassung: More specifically, the aim of the Conference is to address the most advanced directions and new achievements in physical chemistry methods applied to the research processes in drug discovery and pharmaceutical development. Topics covered in the conference program include separation techniques, methods of spectroscopy and microscopy, thermal analysis and physico-chemical profiling including dissolution and permeability. However, this list is by no means exhaustive.

Zusammenfassung: The conference will highlight a state-of-the-art view of research in plant molecular biology. In addition to keynote addresses and invited symposia, individuals are invited to submit abstracts for presentation as talks in concurrent sessions, or as posters. Ample time will be set aside for discussion at various workshops.
