Résumé: Dieses Seminar behandelt alle Aspekte des Arbeitens mit intelligenten Detektoren zur Bestimmung von Molmasse, Größe und Struktur von Polymeren und Biopolymeren in Lösung. Er gliedert sich in einen Vorlesungsteil in dem der theoretische Hintergrund von (Mehrwinkel)Lichtstreudetektion und Viskosimetrie behandelt werden und einen praktischen Teil der von der Probenvorbereitung über die Datenaufnahme und Auswertung sowohl batch-Messungen als auch Kopplungen mit GPC/SEC-Anlagen behandelt. Arbeiten in kleinen Arbeitsgruppen, die von einem Tutor betreut werden, sorgt für die notwendige Arbeitsdichte und dafür, dass auch eigene Fragestellungen diskutiert werden können. Ein trouble-shooting Teil rundet die Veranstaltung ab.

Résumé: The course is intended for individuals wishing an in-depth introduction to the principles of time-resolved fluorescence microscopy and its applications to the Life Sciences. Attendees are typically professionals who are using or intend to use fluorescence microscopy in their research. Most attendees have some knowledge of fluorescence, typically in a specialized area. However, other individuals, from totally different research areas and industry, get the opportunity to enter this exciting field in a very effective way and benefit especially from the experimental section.

Résumé: Behandelt werden folgende Themen: Grundlagen, neue Entwicklungen, praktische Anwendungen, Probenvorbereitung, Automation und Qualitätssicherung für: Flammen- und Graphitrohrofen-, Hydrid-Kaltdampftechniken in der AAS und AFS, Atomemissionsspektrometrie mit ICP, MIP, Bogen, Funken, Glimmentladung, Anorganische Massenspektrometrie mit ICP-MS und GD-MS, Röntgenspektrometrie, Kopplungstechniken, Aufschlusstechniken und Verfahren zur Analytanreicherung/Matrixtrennung, Standardreferenzmaterialien, Validierung, Statistik

Résumé: Auf dem 6. Deutschen BioSensor Symposium soll wieder der Fortschritt im Bereich der Biosensorik und verwandten Fachgebieten diskutiert werden. Die klassische Biosensorik hat mit bedeutenden Kommerzialisierungen insbesondere von Glukosesensoren einen hohen Entwicklungstand erreicht. Die Industrialisierung und der Technologietransfer von zuverlässigen Biosensoren sollen in dem Symposium deshalb auch deutlich hervorgehoben werden. Auch aktuelle und sich konsolidierende Entwicklungen auf dem Gebiete der point-of-care (POC) Diagnostik, dem Microarray basierten screening und Signalverstärkungsmechanismen werden ein wichtiges Thema darstellen. Ein besonderer Schwerpunkt des Symposiums werden neuartige zukunftsträchtige Technologien darstellen, wie zum Beispiel den Einsatz von Nanotechnologie und Mikrosystemtechnik, die Entwicklung neuer smarter Materialien, und integrierter Lab-on-Chip-Systemen.

Synopsis: Expectations are that during the year 2009, in every second more than 30 solid-state image sensors will be produced world-wide. Soon our world will have more cameras than people. No doubt: Electronic imaging is omnipresent!

It addresses scientists and engineers in electronic imaging R&D, users of imaging solutions who demand the highest performance from their equipment for their particular application, interested professionals from all segments of academia and industry where imaging is significant, and all technically-oriented persons who would like to know where electronic imaging is heading.

Résumé: This training course covers all aspects for working with advanced detection methods and instruments for the determination of molar masses, sizes, and structures of macromolecules and biopolymers in solution.

Lectures providing the theoretical background of (multi angle) light scattering and viscometry will be followed by hands-on training sessions on practical aspects and data processing.

Tutored discussions in small workgroups and a trouble shooting session ensure that all aspects of molar mass sensitive detection are trained efficiently. Each group has its own tutor, an experienced polymer chemist, to discuss also special applications and questions.
