UCANS-8 — International Meeting of the Union for Compact Accelerator-Driven Neutron Sources
08 jul 2019 - 11 jul 2019 • Paris, France
Organisateur:
Kurchatov Institute
Résumé:
Advances in science and technology in the field of neutron science have been dominated by a fruitful combination of major international facilities supported by networks of smaller regional facilities. Recent advances in accelerator technology and neutronic design have made it possible to construct small-scale accelerator-driven neutron facilities that would be able to play a significant role in neutron technology and science. The neutron applications using compact accelerator driven neutron sources are now becoming more and more important since it can cover various fields such as material science, engineering, nuclear physics, cancer therapy, soft error and so on, therefore, they would play more significant role in the future. To promote such activities, the Union for Compact Accelerator-driven Neutron Sources (UCANS) was established in 2010 and organizes each year an internationnal conference.

Résumé:
The series of solid state dosimetry conferences began in 1965 at Stanford, USA. Since then, it has expanded involving the advanced techniques for radiation dosimetry, novel idea on applications of radiation dosimeters/detectors. The SSD19 will be the first conference of this series in Asia. Hiroshima City - the venue for this conference - is a wonderful place to visit and stay. The city center was destroyed completely by an artificial disaster in the World War II, but has revitalized miraculously as a modern, international city. Now, with the good accessibility and many attractions including two UNESCO World Heritage Sites (Itsukushima Shrine and A-Bomb Dome), Hiroshima is becoming one of the most outstanding convention cities in the world. Please enjoy the stay there as well as exiting scientific discussions!

HC2NP 2019 — 2nd International Workshop on Hadronic Contributions to New Physics Searches
23 sep 2019 - 28 sep 2019 • Puerto de la Cruz, Tenerife, Espagne
Résumé:
Along with the direct searches of new particles at the LHC, low-energy phenomenology offers many complementary ways to search for physics beyond the Standard Model. The low-energy searches, however, are often hindered by the insufficiently precise knowledge of hadronic contributions. The last decade has witnessed tremendous progress towards ab-initio and model-independent determinations of these contributions. The purpose of this meeting is to cross-examine the empirical and theoretical progress in this field and the implications in beyond-the-SM physics.

NuSYM2019 — 9th International Symposium on Nuclear Symmetry Energy
30 sep 2019 - 04 oct 2019 • Danang City, Viêt Nam
Résumé:
Following the tradition of the previous NuSYM symposia, NuSYM2019 is aimed to host synergies between the studies of nuclear structure, of nuclear reactions and of astrophysics, including new exciting ideas and all possible breakthroughs. The nuclear symmetry energy and its density dependence are known to govern to a large extent the physics of nuclear masses and radii, the collective excitations at moderate excitation energies, up to the dynamics and observables of the high-energy heavy-ion collisions that explore regimes characterized by higher densities and isospin asymmetry of nuclear matter, especially, with radioactive beams. Last but not least, the understanding of the density dependence of nuclear symmetry energy is of paramount importance in the context of the forefront research related to the astrophysical modelling of the stellar and explosive nucleosynthesis, of supernovae and kilonovae (first observed in the aftermath of GW170817), as well as of the properties of neutron stars and their mergers.
