| 1. |  [ID=202911]A workshop on "Light Scattering: Its Applications in Astrophysics and Other Fields". | | 07 Nov 2008 → 08 Nov 2008; Ahmedabad, Gujarat, India | | abstract: It was 100 years ago , for the very first time a full solution of the scattering of light by homogeneous spheres was given by Mie (1908), and since then it has been used extensively in almost all areas of science; viz. chemistry, astronomy, meteorology. The participants will mainly be from college/university (teachers and research students). We plan to hold lectures covering the above topics in the morning and early afternoon sessions and demonstrations/ experiments later in the afternoon.
