Abstract The next DST sponsored SERC school on Nuclear Physics will be held from February 06 - 24, 2012, at IIT - Roorkee with the theme focused on 'Modern trends in Nuclear structure and dynamics'. Of the three weeks, the first will be a preparatory/foundation type with modules on nuclear structure and reactions followed by two weeks of advanced school. The topics for the advanced school would be
1) Mean field theories,
2) Modern methods in shell model with large configuration space,
3) Nuclear reactions,
4) Techniques in modern gamma-ray spectroscopy,
5) Heavy ion fusion-fission dynamics,
6) Role of fundamental symmetries in nuclei.

The three week school will approximately be of 94 hours duration (including Lectures, tutorials, Computational lab hours and evening lectures).
