05 Nov 2008 → 06 Nov 2008; Teddington, United Kingdom

abstract: This two-day meeting will focus upon advances in the analysis of biological materials under ambient conditions, through such methods as scanning probe microscopy and emerging mass spectrometry, and the interaction of biological systems with surfaces and nanoparticles. The highly successful NMAET series concentrates on in-depth, frontier issues in surface and nano-analysis and this year's meeting will be held in conjunction with the 10th SSBII meeting. Both NMAET and SSBII attract world-leading scientists from industry and academia, and this meeting will enable a lively and engaging discussion on the frontier issues in biomolecular surface analysis.

3.go to top of page[ID=162975]Physics and Engineering Aspects of PET/CT
06 Nov 2008; London, United Kingdom
organizer: The British Institute of Radiology

abstract: The aims of the meeting are to provide a forum for scientific issues in PET/CT and to provide attendees with up to date information on PET/CT facility design, testing and staff safety. An insight into the use of PET/CT in the research environment and also the production of PET radiopharmaceuticals will be given. The meeting will consist of proffered papers and invited presentations from leading figures in the field.

4.go to top of page[ID=190459]Noise in Life 2009
30 Mar 2009 → 01 Apr 2009; Cambridge, United Kingdom

abstract: Following 2 previous Noise in Life meetings in Spain (2006) and Germany (2007), "Noise in Life 2009" will focus on cell signaling, regulation of gene expression and neuronal dynamics. There is a nice balance between these three topics to make for an exciting meeting which will improve our understanding of the emergence of mesoscopic dynamics in cell physiology. We will combine communities from the biosciences, nonlinear dynamics, statistical physics, applied mathematics and scientific computing, and gather together expertise in realistic modeling, multi-scale simulations and experimental biology.
